The Minister for Planning has approved Amendment C129 to the Whitehorse Planning Scheme. The amendment came into operation on Thursday 10 November 2011, being the date the Notice of Approval was published in the Government Gazette.
The amendment applies to numbers 28-44 William Street (even numbers only). The area was initially identified as a potential heritage precinct in Andrew Ward’s Whitehorse Heritage Review 2001 and then in subsequent heritage reviews. A planning permit application within the precinct resulted in a interim Planning Scheme amendment and interim heritage protection over nine properties in Williams Street. Amendment C129 now provides permanent heritage control for these properties.
