Amendment C194 to the Whitehorse Planning Scheme was approved on 13 August 2018 and came into effect on 6 September 2018 when notice of the amendment was published in the Victorian Government Gazette.
The planning scheme amendment affects the land located at 517 and 519-521 Station Street, Box Hill and 2-8 Oxford Street, Box Hill and the planning permit application affects land located at 517 and 519-521 Station Street, Box Hill.
The planning scheme amendment rezones the land at 517 and 519-521 Station Street, Box Hill from the Public Use Zone to the Mixed Use Zone (MUZ); rezones the land at 2-8 Oxford Street Box Hill from the Residential Growth Zone to the MUZ; amends the Schedule to Clause 52.03 to include the Incorporated Document entitled “517 and 519-521 Station Street, Box Hill, December 2016” and amends the Schedule to Clause 81.01 to include the Incorporated Document entitled “517 and 519-521 Station Street, Box Hill, December 2016”.
The approved planning permit application for 517 and 519-521 Station Street, Box Hill is for the construction of three buildings (2 buildings up to 18 storeys and 1 building up to 6 storeys) including up to 3 levels of basement car parking and comprising retail premises, offices, restricted recreational facility (gymnasium), medical centre, accommodation, serviced apartments and a child care facility. The land at 2-6 Oxford Street, which contains the Uniting Church, is not included in the planning permit application.
An independent Planning Panel was appointed by the Minister for Planning to consider the Amendment and the submissions received. The Panel Hearing was held over five days from 2 October until 6 October 2017 at the Box Hill Town Hall. A copy of the Panel Timetable (151.49kB) is available for viewing.
