Australian Citizenship Ceremonies

Council conducts citizenship ceremonies throughout the year on behalf of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

The annual Australia Day citizenship ceremony starts at 4.30pm and is held at the Whitehorse Centre, 397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading. Citizenship ceremonies from February to December start at 7.30pm and are held at the Box Hill Town Hall, 1022 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill.  

Please note that Council does not handle the application process of becoming an Australian citizen or schedule approved candidates to attend the ceremonies.

Council’s 2017 citizenship ceremonies will be held on:

  • Thursday 26 January (Australia Day)
  • Wednesday 22 February
  • Wednesday 15 March
  • Tuesday 4 April 
  • Wednesday 17 May
  • Tuesday 25 July
