The Avenue Neighbourhood House offers a wide range of activities and programs. It encourages community participation, developing partnerships and networks, and works to address disadvantage and isolation through building stronger and more connected communities.
 
Programs and services include:

  • Art and craft classes - crochet and knitting, scrap booking, patchwork, embroidery, decorative art, sculpture, sketching
  • Childcare - occasional care, three and four-year-old group on Mondays
  • Computer classes
  • Games - canasta, Scrabble and mahjong
  • Health and wellbeing - line dancing, pilates, keep fit classes, strength training, tai chi, yoga
  • Languages and writing - writers' groups, poetry group
  • Adult Community and Further Education funded classes - literacy and numeracy, life skills for people with intellectual disabilities, English as a second language
  • Support groups - Narcotics Anonymous
  • Social groups - sing-a-long, wheelchair dancing
