Koonung Cottage Community House

Koonung Cottage provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where people participate, learn skills and feel a sense of belonging. Classes include art and craft, health and wellbeing, and technology such as ipads. We have interest and support groups meeting at the house. We offer childcare and playgroups. Various community groups use the house and it is also available to hire for children's birthday parties.

Louise Multicultural Community Centre

English classes; conversation and book buddies; computer classes; internet and email training; Mandarin classes; friendship groups for newly arrived migrants and refugees; Chinese dance; karaoke and singing; volunteering opportunities for tutors and office duties to learn about Australian business culture and participate in the Australian workplace.

Mitcham Community House

Approximately 1400 adults and children attend activities at the Mitcham Community House each week. The house aims to enhance the local community by offering quality affordable opportunities for learning, support, social interaction and personal growth in a warm and friendly environment. Activities are many, affordable and open to all members of the community. The office is open 9.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday during school terms. Activities are held during the day, evenings and some weekends. Programs and activities include: •Art and craft •Health and wellbeing •Personal development •Fitness and recreation •Cooking and community luncheons •Computers •Children's activities, playgroups, three-year-old group and childcare •Auslan sign language •English as a second language •Family violence support group offering assistance and educational programs for women experiencing issues of violence •Volunteering opportunities at the house including: office, childcare, committee, fundraising, English as a second language support, gardening and more

Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre

Surrey Hills Neigbourhood Centre is a friendly, inclusive and welcoming meeting place where people are encouraged to come together and share experiences and skills throughout their life. People can drop in, attend courses and programs, hire the facilities for parties, meetings and get togethers. The centre has two buildings: one at 157 Union Road and the Cottage, facing Bedford Avenue.
