Extended Families Australia – Eastern Region

We service all of Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Our offices are located in Coburg, Box Hill and Mornington. Specialties: Supporting Families of children with special needs in Melbourne (and outer areas), Support Coordination, Volunteer and Family Match Program, Support Workers for community access, Plan Management, Vietnamese My Time Play Groups. Extended Families provides meaningful and lasting volunteer support to children/young people with a disability and their families who require flexible support, are keen to establish strong connections in community life and require practical assistance in their day-to-day lives. We also run a range of programs to reduce isolation and provide carers with some respite. Extended Families Australia facilitates positive connections between people within the community to provide support to children with disabilities and their families. Extended Families seeks to widen social networks, empower individuals, promote inclusion and strengthen the bonds people have within their local area. The organisation breaks down barriers by changing social attitudes and creating opportunities.

Guide Dogs Victoria

Guide Dogs Victoria provides a broad range of support for people with all levels of low vision loss (uncorrectable with glasses). We provide training and support in getting out and about safely and independently, improving daily living skills and staying connected with community. Whether or not a Guide Dog is for you, we can help. We have a low vision Orthoptic Service, and expert Orientation & Mobility Practitioners and Occupational Therapists available who can come to visit you in your home or community. We provide services at no charge to clients, and we are registered to provide TAC, Workcover, Veterans, NDIS, My Aged Care and BetterStart funded services as well if clients have access to these. We are also registered NDIS Support Coordinators.
