Candidate Election Campaign Donation Returns

The October 2016 Whitehorse Local Government General Election was conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission on behalf of Council.

Section 62 of the Local Government Act 1989 requires every candidate in Council general elections, whether elected or not, to lodge a Campaign Donation Return with the Chief Executive Officer of the Council, within 40 days after *Election Day.  A Return is required even if the candidate has not received any campaign donations or campaign gifts.

A summary of each Election Campaign Donation Return must be made available on Council’s website, the summary must include the name of the candidate, if a gift is included in the return the name of the person who made the gift and the total value of the gift received from that person.

Election campaign donation returns are available for inspection at the Whitehorse Civic Centre, 379 Whitehorse Road Nunawading during office hours until the entitlement date for the next general election to be held in 2020.  To make an appointment to view the returns please contact Jenny Russell, Team Leader Governance on 9262 6337.

* The Whitehorse Election was conducted by postal vote with Election Day being 22 October 2016.
