Joanie Bartolo from Emotion Wise will share the five steps of emotion coaching that help parents recognise, understand and respond to children’s emotions in an accepting, supportive way. This approach helps children to understand and manage their emotions and to use emotional awareness to guide them when solving problems, to deal with frustration and to regulate feelings. The ideas and techniques discussed in this forum are useful for parents and carers of children of all ages, but are especially suited to parents of pre-schoolers and young primary school children.
