Victorian Flood Assistance Payments
Centrelink is delivering two emergency assistance payments to people affected by the recent floods on behalf of the Australian Government – the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment and the Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy.
The Prime Minister announced the activation of the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment for the Victorian disaster declared Local Government Areas in the Regions of Hume, Barwon South West, Grampians and Loddon Mallee on 19 January 2011.
The Australian Government’s Disaster Recovery Payment comprises payments of $1000 for each eligible adult and $400 for each eligible child for those who have been adversely affected by the floods.

The Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy provides short-term income support to workers, small business operators, primary producers and farmers who have experienced a loss of income as a direct result of the flooding and severe weather.
