From 27 February 2017, funding for a Home Care Package follows you, the consumer.
This will allow you to choose a provider to administer your package funding. You are able to change providers, if you wish, at any time.

The Whitehorse City Council has a long and proud history of partnering with its consumers to support them to remain living independently in their own homes. We believe older people should be valued and respected, connected to their communities and in control of their lives. Our support team works closely with you to individually tailor and coordinate a package of care that will support your lifestyle at home.
Whitehorse City Council Home Care Packages will support you to remain living at home, while providing choice and flexibility in the way care and support is provided. You will have access to a Case Manager who will work with you to understand your needs and individually tailor a care plan which is monitored and reviewed with you regularly. All support and services are planned and arranged with you, based on your individual needs and what’s important to you.
Whitehorse City Council Home Care Package consumers can choose to have services provided directly by Council’s Home Support staff, or from a range of external approved service providers. Only Whitehorse administered packages have access to our highly-trained in-house support staff. We ensure care is consistent and of the highest standard, while remaining flexible to adapt to your individual needs. We ensure all external providers comply with program guidelines, supplementary Council requirements and national standards.
