Keep the kids busy: July school holidays in Whitehorse

Fun and educational activities will be held across Whitehorse during the July school holidays.

Whitehorse Councillor Andrew Munroe said the activities covered sport, cooking, art and craft, water play and more.

“It’s a good idea to start now looking through the activities on offer and book a place to ensure children get to experience the affordable, entertaining and educational activities run at Council venues throughout the holidays,” Cr Munroe said.

Holiday activities include:

Box Hill Community Arts Centre – Ukulele for kids, make your own picture book, crazy cushions, family African drumming, stencil workshops, Use clay and the stopmotion animation process to create a mini-movie and all day art days and more!

Sportlink – A holiday program run by Kelly Sports covers soccer, football, cricket, hockey and other sports as well as crazy games and more. Kelly Sports is a registered childcare provider and childcare benefits apply.

Aqualink Box Hill – Enjoy fun aquatic activities in the Chill Zone every weekday in the holidays. From 2 July-6 July12.30pm to 4pm - Dive boards and Tarzan rope. Monday 9 – Friday 14 July – Red Dragon inflatable Obstacle Course: 1.30pm-3.30pm and dive boards and Tarzan rope – 12.30pm-4pm.
 
Aqualink Nunawading – Enjoy fun aquatic activities in the Chill Zone every weekday in the holidays with a Christmas in July theme. From 2 July to 13 July. 12.30pm-1.15pm small Inflatable, 1.15pm-2.15pm - Giant Inflatable Time Trials and 2.15pm–3pm - Tarzan Rope

ParksWide Environmental Education - Events are being held these holidays at Yarran Dheran Bushland Reserve and Blackburn Lake Sanctuary, for ages 4 to 14 years. Activities include exploring the updated Visitor Centre at Blackburn Lake Sanctuary, celebrating NAIDOC week and exploring the mini world of fungi.

Whitehorse Centre - 3 Speed Crunch Box Rebooted
Tuesday 10 July, 10.30am
The world-touring, crazy stunt people from Dislocate are bringing their brand new show to Whitehorse. In this hilarious story of a family of outlandish stunt people, expect impressive aerobatics and spectacular circus tricks!

Youth Connexions - Tuesdays and Thursdays during the holidays
Plenty of hot food, snacks and sweets, range of activities including DVDs, PlayStation and WIIU.
