To make a noise complaint, you will need to complete a Noise Complaints (55.19kB) form* and submit it to Council's Community Laws Department. The information that you provide on this form allows Council to thoroughly investigate the noise nuisance. Please be advised that we do require these logs to action and resolve your complaint. However we are more than happy to discuss this with you prior to you lodging the form with Council.
Council recommends discussing noise issues with your neighbour first. On many occasions, the neighbour does not even know that a nuisance is being caused and the issue can be resolved quickly and diplomatically.
For more information, read Annoyed by Noise Publication.pdf (388.10kB) or visit www.everyday-law.org.au/noise-complaints
Following is a table produced from the Environmental Protection (Residential Noise) Regulations 2008 showing when items cannot be used.
* Please note: The Noise Complaints form is not to be used for Noisy Dog Complaints. If you have a Noisy Dog Complaint, please
