Nunawading / Mitcham Structure Plans

Nunawading MegaMile has been designated as a ‘Major Activity Centre’ and Mitcham a ‘Neighbourhood Activity Centre’ under the State Government’s Melbourne 2030 Strategy.

The study area for the development of a structure plan for both activity centres encompasses an area generally bordered by Varman Court (in the west), the Civic Centre (to the north), Cochrane Street (to the east) and the Melbourne Water Pipe Track to the south.

The Activity Centres are served by public transport in the form of buses and trains, major arterial roads, civic and community facilities.

August 2008 Update
At its meeting on 21 April 2008, Council adopted the Nunawading/MegaMile Major Activity Centre and Mitcham Neighbourhood Activity Centre Structure Plan. The structure plan was finalised after review of community feedback received during the display of the Draft Plan in October 2006.
