    Special (Statutory) Council Meetings

    Special Council Meetings will take place on Monday 10 April 2017 at 8.30pm and Monday 24 April at 7pm in the Council Chamber at 379 Whitehorse Road Nunawading.

    The business to be transacted at the meetings is:

    • Whitehorse Centre (Monday 10 April Meeting, 8.30pm)
    • Council Plan and 2017/2018 Council Budget (Monday 24 April Meeting, 7pm)

    In accordance with Section 89 of the Local Government Act 1989, the meetings are open to members of the public, unless the meeting is closed to consider confidential matters.

    Notice of the Preparation of an Amendment Amendment C192

    Whitehorse City Council has prepared Amendment C192 to the Whitehorse Planning Scheme.
    The land affected by the Amendment is land at 119 Surrey Road and 150–152B Springfield Road, Blackburn.

    The Amendment proposes to:

    • rezone 119 Surrey Road and 150–152B Springfield Road, Blackburn, from the General Residential Zone
      (Schedule 1) to the Commercial 1 Zone;
    • apply Design and Development Overlay (Schedule 4) to 119  Surrey Road and 150–152B Springfield
      Road, Blackburn; and
    • apply an Environmental Audit Overlay to 119 Surrey Road, Blackburn.

     

    You may inspect the Amendment, any documents that support the Amendment and the explanatory report about the Amendment, free of charge, at the following locations: Whitehorse City Council, Planning Counter, 379 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading; Whitehorse City Council Service Centres at Box Hill Town Hall and Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre; libraries in the City of Whitehouse at Nunawading, Vermont South, Blackburn and Box Hill; on the internet at: http://www.whitehorse.vic.gov.au; and at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website at www.delwp.vic.gov.au/public-inspection 

    Any person who may be affected by the Amendment may make a submission to the planning authority about the Amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the Amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.

    Name and contact details of submitters are required for Council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend Council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.

    The closing date for submissions is Friday 3 March 2017.

    A submission must be sent to: Vanessa McLean, Senior Strategic Planner, Whitehorse City Council, Locked Bag 2, Nunawading DC, Victoria 3131; or email to strategic.planning@ whitehorse.vic.gov.au The planning authority must make a copy of every submission available at its office for any person to inspect, free of charge, for two months after the Amendment comes into operation or lapses.

    Notice of Approval of Amendment

    Amendment C181

    The Minister for Planning has approved Amendment C181 to the Whitehorse Planning Scheme.
    The amendment comes into operation on the date this notice is published in the Government Gazette.
    The amendment implements recommendations from the City of Whitehorse Significant Tree Study 2016 by inserting Schedule 5 to Clause 42.02 Vegetation Protection Overlay (VPO5) into the Whitehorse Planning Scheme and applying the VPO5 to 27 properties in the municipality.
    A copy of the amendment can be inspected, free of charge, at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website at www.delwp.vic.gov.au/public-inspection and free of charge, during office hours, at the offices of the Whitehorse City Council, 379 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading.
