LANE ABUTTING TASSELL’S PARK, BOX HILL NORTH NOW NAMED
Notice is hereby given that the lane that abuts Tassell’s Park in Box Hill North, has been named.
After undertaking a community consultation process and considering an officer’s report at its 19 November 2018 Council meeting, Council resolved to name the lane.
The Office of the Registrar of Geographic Names has now registered and gazetted the name, “Tassell Lane”.

Whitehorse City Council (Council), acting under section 206 and schedule 10 clause 3 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”), proposes to discontinue the 3.05m wide road adjoining 28 to 46A Medway Street, 33 and 35 Tyne Street and within Halligan Park, Box Hill North.
If discontinued, Council proposes to sell the land from the road, adjoining 44 and 46 Medway Street and 33 and 35 Tyne Street, Box Hill North, shown hatched on the plan, by private treaty to the abutting property owners.
Furthermore, Council proposes to retain the land from the road at the rear of 28 to 42 Medway Street and currently enclosed within Halligan Park, shown cross-hatched on the plan, for municipal purposes.
Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposal must do so in writing to the undersigned. Council must receive submissions no later than Wednesday, 15 May 2019.
All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act.
Any person making a written submission and requesting to be heard in support of their written submission is entitled to appear in person, or may be represented by a person acting on their behalf, before Council’s Special Committee on Tuesday 11 June 2019 at 8 pm at the Council Chamber, Nunawading Civic Centre, 379-397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading.
Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to discontinue and sell or retain the road, part of the road, or not to discontinue and sell or retain the road.
Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
