Whitehorse City Council’s Gold Star Recycling Competition aims to encourage residents to make a commitment to recycling by ensuring they separate their recyclables correctly. 

Get more than 90 per cent of the quiz below correct and you will become a Gold Star recycler. Council will provide you with a Gold Star pack including a sticker for your recycling bin, a no-junk-mail sticker and a magnet. You’ll also go in the draw to win a great range of prizes including a $250 Coles voucher.

The competition, organised by Council in conjunction with recycling contractor Visy Recycling, runs until mid-February 2012, with prizes awarded monthly. For conditions of entry, please click on the following document:   Gold Star Recycling Competition Conditions of Entry (37.00kB).

1. All plastic bottles and containers coded 1-7 are re-used or recycled.
2. All steel and aluminium cans are recycled.
3. All magazines, newspapers and paper cartons are recycled.
4. All retail packaging is re-used or recycled where possible.

6. All unwanted household products are recycled or donated where possible.
