Gold Star Recycling Competition

Whitehorse City Council’s Gold Star Recycling Competition aims to encourage residents to make a commitment to recycling by ensuring they separate their recyclables correctly. 

Get more than 90 per cent of the quiz below correct and you will become a Gold Star recycler. Council will provide you with a Gold Star pack including a sticker for your recycling bin, a no-junk-mail sticker and a magnet. You’ll also go in the draw to win a great range of prizes including a $250 Coles voucher.

The competition, organised by Council in conjunction with recycling contractor Visy Recycling, runs until mid-February 2012, with prizes awarded monthly. For conditions of entry, please click on the following document: doc icon  Gold Star Recycling Competition Conditions of Entry (37.00kB).

Tick the items that you should place in your recycling bin, agree to the household commitment actions and fill in your contact details below.

Household Commitment Actions

1. All plastic bottles and containers coded 1-7 are re-used or recycled.
2. All steel and aluminium cans are recycled.
3. All magazines, newspapers and paper cartons are recycled.
4. All retail packaging is re-used or recycled where possible.
5. There are no plastic bags in this bin.
6. All unwanted household products are recycled or donated where possible.
