The Renew kerbside collection provides a one-off opportunity for residents to recycle unwanted but useable household goods that might otherwise have been thrown out and ended up in landfill.
This year’s Renew Collection will be held from 3-14 May 2016. Residents should keep an eye out in their letterboxes for collection bags and full details being distributed in April.
During the Renew Collection period, residents simply need to place bags of unwanted but useable household goods into their empty recycling bin immediately after their normal recycling has been collected. Then push the bin straight back out on the kerb for their scheduled Renew Collection.
Residents are encouraged to prepare in advance by finding unwanted items, such as textiles, household goods, small electronic items and sporting equipment, and sorting them into product groups. Each group of items should be packed into separate plastic bags to ensure they stay clean.

A Renew Drop Off Day for recycling larger household and electrical items will also be held on Saturday 14 May 2016 from 8am to 2pm at the Whitehorse City Council Depot, 1 Ailsa Street, Box Hill South.
The Renew Drop Off Day is designed for items that are too big or fragile to be placed in recycling bin, such as televisions, whitegoods or furniture. Please ensure that you only bring good quality reusable furniture. Any damaged or dirty furniture will not be able to be reused and may be refused at the point of drop off.
