Renew Collection

The Renew kerbside collection provides a one-off opportunity for residents to recycle unwanted but useable household goods that might otherwise have been thrown out and ended up in landfill.

The Renew collection and drop off day are one-off events held annually in May each year.

This year’s Renew collection fortnight is Tuesday 1 May 2018 to Saturday 12 May 2018.

During the Renew Collection period, residents simply need to place bags of unwanted but useable household goods into their empty recycling bin immediately after their normal recycling has been collected. Then push the bin straight back out on the kerb for their scheduled Renew Collection.

Residents are encouraged to prepare in advance by finding unwanted items, such as textiles, household goods, small electronic items and sporting equipment, and sorting them into product groups. Each group of items should be packed into separate plastic bags to ensure they stay clean.

Renew Drop Off Day

The Renew Drop Off Day is designed for items that are too big or fragile to be placed in recycling bin, such as televisions, whitegoods or furniture. Please ensure that you only bring good quality reusable furniture. Any damaged or dirty furniture will not be able to be reused and may be refused at the point of drop off.

This year’s Renew drop off day is Saturday 12 May 2018 between 8am and 2pm. Items can be dropped off at Council’s Operations Centre, 1 Ailsa Street, Box Hill South. This is the only time items are accepted for drop off at this location.
