Community groups are invited to take part in the fun and festivities of this year’s Whitehorse Spring Festival on Sunday 15 October.
Whitehorse Mayor Councillor Denise Massoud said more than 20,000 residents came together each year to enjoy an array of music, dance, entertainment and fun workshops at the festival, a key event on the Whitehorse calendar.
“Council is now seeking expressions of interest from emerging performers, community groups, social groups and service organisations to take part in the free event. The festival is a great place to share your talents, show off the benefits of your group or organisation, and fundraise,” Cr Massoud said.
The popular, fun-filled festival aims to bring the community together and celebrate the incredibly talented and diverse municipality of Whitehorse.
The Spring Festival runs from 10am-4pm on the lawns of the Whitehorse Civic Centre. Rainbow flags and bunting will set the scene for a village fair-inspired festival featuring woodchop demonstrations, a dog show, crazy vegetable competition and hat parade.
All stallholders, performers and guests are invited to dress up, decorate their stalls and embrace the theme.
Register your interest to participate by Friday 18 August 2017. For more information and expressions of interest forms, visit www.whitehorse.vic.gov.au/Spring-Festival.html or phone Council’s Festival Coordinator on 9262 6429.
