Christmas fun in Whitehorse means festive cheer, a visit from Santa and family entertainment at the annual Whitehorse Carols on Sunday 17 December.
Whitehorse Mayor Councillor Andrew Davenport said all ages would enjoy the performances at Whitehorse Carols, with popular singers Tim Campbell and Michelle Serret-Cursio headlining the event.
“Whitehorse Carols is a key event on the Whitehorse calendar and held on the lawns of the Nunawading Civic Precinct. It is a time to come together with family and friends, sing-a-long to classic Christmas favourites and relax and enjoy the wonderful family festivities,” Cr Davenport said.
This year’s star studded program includes special performances from ABC Kids favourite Nay Nay, who will be bringing her unique ‘Tinkertime’ approach to Christmas Carols.
Popular musical theatre actress Chelsea Plumley and iconic local singing aficionados the Box Hill Chorale will appear, plus the Combined Churches of North Blackburn.
Richard Thomas returns to the Whitehorse Carols, but this time to host this year’s event.
There will be the chance to meet Santa and enjoy the free rides from 4.30pm-9.20pm, while visitors can purchase refreshments and an LED candle or glow stick to help local charities and community service organisations with their fundraising efforts.
Parking is always limited at Whitehorse Carols and it is recommended that guests take public transport, cycle or walk.
Accessible parking, a quiet zone and an accessible viewing area will be available at Whitehorse Carols. The full concert will be AUSLAN interpreted, and an AUSLAN viewing area will be located at the front of the lawn on the right of the stage.
Event sponsors Deakin University, Philip Webb Real Estate and Healthy Smiles Dental Group will be sharing the festive cheer with a number of exciting activities and giveaways.
