Council reminds the Whitehorse community to be on the lookout for stunning festive window shopfronts to nominate for this year’s Festive Window Dressing Competition.
Whitehorse Councillor Sharon Ellis said there were just over two weeks to get nominations in, with the competition closing on Friday 15 December.
“Traders and shoppers look forward to the annual competition, with the best windows receiving valuable and useful prizes. First place this year takes out a $5000 radio marketing campaign from LightFM and there is also a nominator’s prize this year for the first time!” Cr Ellis said.
“Eye-catching, bright festive window displays that capture the magic of the season really encourage shoppers to shop locally and support local businesses.”
The competition involves local shoppers and traders nominating their favourite displays, and traders are able to nominate their own business.
Judges will select winners with the most creative displays. Judging is based on use of colour, themes and the visual impact of the display.
Entries close at 5pm on Friday 15 December 2017, and winning businesses will be announced on 22 December. Winners’ names will also be published on www.wbiz.com.au and in the Down to Business newsletter (Edition 1, 2018) and in the Whitehorse Leader in January 2018.
