Community members are invited to share their thoughts on walking and cycling in Whitehorse at Council’s first Active Transport Forum, a drop-in event to be held this month.
Whitehorse Councillor Andrew Munroe said Council was committed to improving the safety, health and sustainability of the community, and walking and cycling were proven ways to achieve this.
“Information about some of Council’s current and proposed walking and cycling activities will be on display at the forum and we'd love to hear what people think of them. We welcome suggestions on ways to build on all Whitehorse has to offer walkers and cyclists,” Cr Munroe said.
You will be able to see displays, ask questions and provide feedback to Council on:
The development of cycling routes throughout the municipality that use local roads
The progress Council has made in implementing the ‘Whitehorse Cycling Strategy’ and the ‘Whitehorse Community Road Safety Strategy’ Walking and cycling education programs offered to the community.
