Submissions for community grants for the 2018/2019 financial year open on Monday 26 February 2018 to not-for-profit community groups in the City of Whitehorse.
Whitehorse Mayor Councillor Andrew Davenport said the program provided funding toward programs and activities including adult education, social support programs for older people, and activities for children and youth.
“These grants in the past have meant community groups providing valuable services to those in Whitehorse have been able to achieve their aims more easily,” Cr Davenport said.
“Grants in previous years provided support to enhance a range of services, programs and activities including pre-schools, neighbourhood houses, toy libraries, seniors groups and community festivals.”
The current grant application forms provide information on eligibility criteria, grant categories, application process and timelines.
Grants are available in the form of cash or discount support and grants are also available for minor equipment and resources up to $1500. Community grants are not for capital expenditure items such as buildings, refurbishment or building fit outs, outdoor structures, groundworks, landscaping, computer hardware or software or to fund salaried positions.
Grant application forms will be available for downloading from Council’s website from Monday 26 February 2018 at www.whitehorse.vic.gov.au.
Hard copies will also be available from Council’s Customer Service Centres at the Civic Centre in Nunawading, the Box Hill Town Hall and at the Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre as well as the Whitehorse Centre, Box Hill Community Arts Centre and Nunawading Community Centre.
Grant applications close on Friday 6 April 2018 at 5.30pm.
