Explore notions of home at Artspace this winter

23 May 2018

Victorian artist Dean Bowen explores the importance of home to our wellbeing in a charming new exhibition starting next month at Whitehorse Artspace.

Whitehorse Mayor Councillor Andrew Davenport said the exhibition, Home Is Where the Heart Is, featured sculpture and 2D artworks depicting homes, cars and the birdlife that inhabit our gardens.

“Artspace is hosting this thought-provoking and entertaining exhibition from a brilliant artist whose career spans more than 30 years and whose work is included in more than 70 national and international collections,” Cr Davenport said.

Dean Bowen has won a raft of art awards for his prints, paintings and endearing sculptures which adorn civic spaces across Victoria.

Discover his smaller sculptural works and marvel at his prints and paintings of homes – spiralling towers and humble cottages alike. Soaring comets above our homes in the night sky prompt us to reconsider the wonder of life and love.
