Shopping Trolleys
Shopping trolleys should not be left on streets, footpaths or nature strips and should be returned to their owner. Businesses are encouraged to collect shopping trolleys that have been abandoned.
Council officers will impound any trolleys found on municipal land and these will be released to the owner only after payment of a fee.
To report an abandoned shopping trolley for the following retailers – Safeway, Dan Murphy's, Woolworths, Big W and Target – you can go to www.trolleytracker.com.au or free-call 1800 641497.
Woolworths has recently launched a new smartphone application (Trolley Tracker) to make it easier to report abandoned trolleys. The application can be downloaded from www.woolworths.com.au under the Community tab.
For all other retailers, please contact the store directly or call Council’s Community Laws Department on 9262 6333.
