Solar Hot Water Program

Whitehorse City Council is making it easier for residents to change to solar hot water to reduce their energy consumption with information sessions and a group purchase scheme.

After a competitive Registration of Interest process, the Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action (EAGA), of which Whitehorse City Council is a member council, appointed Green Project to provide good value solar hot water systems to the region.

Green Project will also run information sessions to help residents understand the range of rebates available and to provide advice on the best type of system for their home.

As part of this program, Green Project is offering a promotional discount of $500 on the purchase of solar hot water systems for deposits paid before 30 September 2010.

There are also generous rebates on offer from state and federal governments which mean you could get your new heat pump or solar hot water system fully installed from $1219.00*.

For more information or to register your interest in attending an information session, phone Green Project on 1800 899 330 or visit www.greenproject.com.au/eaga-ses

*Price for Rheem 325 Litre Heat Pump correct at 12 July 2010. Standard install. Metro Melbourne, Zone 4, RECS $40. Federal rebate $600 (eligibility criteria apply). State rebate $400 (eligibility criteria apply).

Purchases and installations of solar hot water systems are private arrangements between the buyer and the provider once the buyer has satisfied themselves that the system suits their needs. Neither Whitehorse City Council nor the EAGA is involved in these transactions.
