Strategic Cycling Corridors

Comments invited on Strategic Cycling Corridors

The State Government has allocated $100 million for infrastructure projects that improve the safety for pedestrians and cyclists throughout Victoria through the ‘Safer Cyclists and Pedestrians Fund’.  This investment demonstrates the commitment to providing infrastructure and services to encourage community members to be active, healthy and safe.

Two routes within Whitehorse are being investigated by the State Government for funding to accelerate infrastructure improvements.
VicRoads and Whitehorse Council are interested in your thoughts about improvements being considered along the following Strategic Cycling Corridors that are within Whitehorse:

  1. Chirnside Park to Mordialloc Strategic Cycling Corridor
In Whitehorse, this route is generally along the Melbourne Water pipe track from East Burwood to Nunawading
  2. Box Hill to Ashburton Strategic Cycling Corridor
Road treatments are being investigated to improve access to this route that is generally along the Gardiners Creek path.
