Swimming Pools & Spas

Public Swimming Pools and Spas

Public swimming pools and spas with the City of Whitehorse are tested regularly to ensure that they meet the requirements of the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009.

Public swimming pools and spas include Aqualink at Box Hill and Nunawading as well as private swim schools, hydrotherapy pools, hotel and motel pools and schools where the pool is hired out to external hirers.

Information about maintaining a pool can be found in the Pool Operators Handbook from the Department of Health. The handbook was amended by the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009. Information about the changes can be found in the Aquatic Facilities Bulletin March 2010.

Domestic Swimming Pools

Swimming pools that are not maintained can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. For more information visit the Department of Health website.
