TravelSmart is a state government initiative that uses travel planning to reduce people’s dependency on cars and encourage them to choose sustainable transport alternatives such as walking, cycling, public transport and car pooling. Smarter travel choices can be made by changing one or two trips per week, or by reducing the number of car journeys.
Council has worked with the Department of Transport and Melway to develop a TravelSmart map for the City of Whitehorse. The handy pocket-sized map, complete with standard Melway references, provides the latest information on sustainable transport options in Whitehorse. It provides easy to understand cycling information; tram, train and NightRider network maps; bus, Smart Bus and tram routes that operate within Whitehorse; taxi phone numbers; and general ticketing information.
The TravelSmart map is available from council's customer service centres at Nunawading, Box Hill and Forest Hill; local libraries; and Aqualink leisure centres at Nunawading and Box Hill. Alternatively, view the map by clicking on the following link: City of Whitehorse TravelSmart Map (5.54MB).
