Use of Parks and Reserves by Health and Fitness Providers

Council has developed guidelines for the use of parks and reserves by health and fitness providers. The guidelines will assist with managing the use of open space accessibility, wear and tear and public liability.

Paying a Bond

The parks and reserves of Whitehorse are community assets. The staging of events and access to parks can lead to damage to these assets.

A bond amount will be payable for the use of parks and reserves by health and fitness providers. The payment of the bond is required one week prior to the date of activity.    


Usage Fees

For all fees and charges, please refer to the Guidelines for use of Public Open Space by Health and Fitness Providers within the application form. This fee will increase each year as determined by Council in the annual budget process.


Public Liability Insurance

Public liability insurance will be required for all approved applications for use of parks and reserves by health and fitness providers to the value of $10 million. Public liability insurance can be obtained from most insurance companies. A copy of the applicants public liability insurance must be attached with the application form.
