Vermont South Community House offers a wide range of affordable, quality educational, recreational and social programs for people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Classes are held during the day, after school, evenings and on weekends, with some classes held during the school holidays. Classes are held in a friendly and welcoming environment and the house has its own fully equipped computer lab. It also provides childcare in the morning, Monday to Friday during the school term. The house produces a monthly newsletter – Vermont South Community News – that is distributed by volunteers to the 4000 homes in Vermont South every month except January.
Programs and services include:
- Adult education including English as a second language, French, Italian
- Art classes - calligraphy, oil painting, sketching, watercolour
- Crafts - cake decorating, leadlighting, mosaics, patchwork
- Childcare
- Children's after school activities including drawing, guitar, jazz dance
- Computer classes including accredited training
- Discussion groups
- Health and fitness including healthy bones, pilates, yoga
- Hobby classes including cooking, guitar, photography, poetry
- Japanese Youchien
- Playgroups
- Social groups
- Toy library
