Share your top priorities for waste

Share your top priorities to inform our action plan by Sunday 19 May.

We’re working on the action plan that will guide how we deliver waste services over the next five years, so we can achieve targets set in our Waste Management Strategy. This includes what we do to support and enable our community to divert the most they can from landfill.

When it comes to waste, we want to know:

  • what is most important to you
  • what resources and education would be most helpful.

About this consultation

Council’s Waste Management Strategy (Rubbish to Resource!) 2018-2028 was endorsed in 2018 with a five-year action plan.

We want to share our achievements so far and find out about your waste needs as we develop our next action plan. What you'll expect to find out:

  • the successes and progress over the past five years
  • A summary of Victorian Government policy, legislation changes and targets for recycling and waste management across Victoria. This includes the standardisation of household waste and recycling services across the state by 2030, including the mandatory introduction of Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) and glass recycling services.

Highlights from our current action plan

How to get involved

  • Complete the survey. There is an option to respond in Simplified Chinese
  • Attend a pop-up to speak directly to Council officers from our Waste Reduction and Recycling Team
  • Sign up for updates on this page to get information about this project and future waste management engagement projects.
