Whitehorse is renowned for its many trees, making our suburbs more liveable, contribute to our unique neighbourhood character and make our community happier and healthier.
To protect our trees, many properties and precincts have ‘planning controls’ that require owners/occupiers to obtain a planning permit from the Council before you remove, prune or lop trees.
So before you remove, trim or prune trees on your property, please contact Whitehorse City Council’s Planning Department on 9262 6303 to determine whether you require a planning permit.
Substantial penalties apply for illegal tree removal or looping.
