Parenting Information Forums 2020

Whitehorse News - February 2020

Council is presenting another great line up of Parenting Information Forums in 2020.

Council uses a range of guest speakers to reflect the diverse range of parenting approaches that individuals, communities and cultures hold.

The first forum looks at “Importance of Play in Childhood Development”, for parents and carers of children aged birth to 7 years.

In an ever-changing, rushed and risk-averse world, our society is becoming increasingly fast paced.

As a result, children’s spontaneous play is being replaced by more structured indoor activities. This can contribute to children’s increased anxiety and challenging behaviour.

Presenter Louise Dorrat will discuss the benefits of play and how necessary it is to healthy child development, how to manage risks in play and more.
