Australia Day Concert and Fireworks

Chocolate Starfish will headline a fun filled night of entertainment, performing a special show featuring some of INXS, Meatloaf and Queen’s greatest hits. Performing all our favourite Aussie classics, former The Voice contestant, Michael Paynter will also be joining us, along with ACDShe and the Michelle Serret Band.

  • Date: Sunday 26 January 2020
  • Concert: 6pm - 10pm
  • Rides: 5pm - 9.40pm
  • Location: Whitehorse Civic Centre, Nunawading

The Kazoos will be back to delight the kids, as too will Wendy Stapleton, one of our favourite, long running emcees. This stunning night of entertainment will end with a 10- minute fireworks finale.

Accessibility

The concert is AUSLAN interpreted with a dedicated viewing area and interpreters on the big screen throughout the show.

An additional accessible viewing area for wheelchairs will be located at the rear of the main lawn next to the middle pathway.

Accessible parking and portable toilets will be available. Contact Council for further information.

Parking

Parking onsite is very limited and we recommend you use public transport, ride your bike or car pool with friends or family. The front service road outside the Civic Centre building will be closed for the duration of the event. Please note we have a second viewing area for the fireworks located behind the Whitehorse Centre. This area also has a big screen so you can still watch the show.

When leaving the site, please be mindful of changed traffic conditions on Whitehorse Road and Rooks Road. A temporary road closure will be in place on Rooks Road after the event, and a detour will be made via Station Street. If you have found a park on the event site, exiting traffic will be directed around the back of the Nunawading Police Station onto Humphreys Ave. No cars will be able to exit via the Civic Centre entry.

Please note, parking for the event will be limited so make your way by bike, on foot or by catching public transport. A dedicated bicycle parking area will be available for the public (next to Nunawading Library).

Further Information

Please take care of your pets at home if you think they may be frightened by the fireworks.
