As you will be aware from recent media reports, the spread of the COVID-19 in Australia has been increasing. The situation and information about the virus is changing rapidly and the WHO has now declared the spread of the virus a pandemic.
On Tuesday 10 March, the Premier released the State Government’s Pandemic Plan, but he noted that a pandemic has not yet been declared for Victoria.
If a pandemic is declared, the State Government will move through various control measures aimed at containing the virus.
Whitehorse City Council has its own Pandemic Action Plan which will be also be activated.
We will keep the community informed but at this time, Whitehorse City Council continues to operate our services and facilities as usual.
