In an effort to maintain public health around the COVID-19 virus and in response to a number of community groups cancelling their involvement, Whitehorse City Council has cancelled its outdoor public event, Global Fiesta, scheduled for Sunday 15 March.
“Council takes the risks associated with the virus extremely seriously and is determined to keep the Whitehorse and wider Victorian community as safe as possible,” Whitehorse Mayor, Cr Sharon Ellis said.
“Council has proactively decided to cancel Global Fiesta this year and will continue to monitor the situation and respond as required.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, however our first priority is the health of our community.”
