Works alert - Lorne Parade existing utility services relocation

Lorne Parade’s existing utility services will be relocated, with works starting on Monday 7 February.

Works taking place

A small boring machine will be used to relocate existing power and telecommunications cables from Lorne Parade, under the rail corridor and into 332 Mont Albert Road. These works will commence from Monday 7 February.

To complete these works, there will be traffic management and lane closures on Lorne Parade.

Further works will be required by the relevant service authorities. Please keep a look out for additional correspondence from United Energy, Telstra and their contractors.

In addition to these works, on both Tuesday 8 and Tuesday 15 February, crews will be undertaking power pole replacement and wire cable connection works on sections of Lorne Parade. The works will be undertaken by the service authority, United Energy and their contractors. Traffic management and road closures may be in place while these works are carried out.

The relevant service authority will provide you with further details, including information about any interruption to the power supply and how to contact them if you have further queries about their works.

What to expect

Traffic management will be in place on sections of Lorne Parade from Tuesday 8 February between 7am and 6pm each day and 7am to 1pm on Saturdays while the boring and service relocation works are carried out.

  • On-street car parking will be temporarily closed on Lorne Parade adjacent to the rail line between Mont Albert Road and Lorne Parade Reserve to enable these works to be undertaken

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained

Other impacts of these works include:

  • Construction noise and activity, with vehicles, machinery and workers on site
  • Minor delays for vehicles

The majority of work will take place during normal construction hours, 7am – 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am – 1pm on Saturdays. Notice will be provided if any works need to take place outside of these times.

All works and timeframes are subject to change due to suitable weather conditions.
