Whitehorse City Council delivers 1200 meals to approximately 300 clients each week. Volunteers in this program provide valuable assistance and support by picking up meals from one of our distribution centres and delivering them to our residents at their homes.
Monitoring the overall wellbeing of clients and reporting any concerns is a vital part of this role. You will be a valued member of the team and training and support will be provided.
Please note that a clear National Criminal History Check is required at commencement and every three years thereafter.
Volunteers can apply to be either a driver or a jockey. Shifts are approximately two hours between 10am and 12 noon on weekdays. There is also an opportunity to sign up as a relief volunteer to help during times when regular volunteers are unavailable. Volunteers are expected to attend a minimum two training sessions per year.
