The City of Whitehorse is well known for its tree lined streets and autumn is synonymous with falling leaves. Whitehorse City Council's street sweepers will be out in force again this year sweeping leaves and other debris from the streets.
Council's autumn street sweeping fortnightly schedule will commence on Monday 15 March 2021 and continue until Friday 9 July 2021.
Whitehorse has 138 streets that experience heavy leaf falls. These streets will be swept every two weeks from 15 March 2021.
NOTE: For the month of May the frequency will be increased to every week. At the end of May the streets will revert to being swept every two weeks. All other streets are swept every four weeks, dependent on leaf volume and weather conditions.
Sweeping of nominated 138 streets that experience heavy leaf falls commence week of:
- 15 March
- 29 March
- 12 April
- 26 April
- 3 May
- 10 May
- 17 May
- 24 May
- 7 June
- 21 June
- 5 July
Council endeavours to sweep streets on the days listed however if this day is missed the street will be swept the next working day.
Residents are advised not to park their vehicles on the street on the days that the streets are being swept to ensure sweeping is more effective.
The sweeping is to collect leaves and debris from Council's streets and not from private properties.
NOTE: There will be no sweeping during Easter from Friday 2 April 2021 to Monday 5 April 2021. We will endeavour to sweep these streets on Thursday 1 April 2021.
