16 Days of Activism

The 16 Days of Activism is a global campaign that runs from 25 November to 10 December each year. It encourages people and communities to take action to prevent gender based violence.

Council supports the campaign by raising awareness, sharing local stories, and providing practical ways for people to promote respect and equality.

Discussion Guide

A discussion guide ( PDF 4.2MB) has been created to go our Community Voices videos. The guide helps groups, workplaces, and community members talk about respect, equality, and how to prevent harm. It includes simple activities, reflection questions, and information about where to get help.

Community Voices Videos

We worked with local men to create short videos about showing respect in everyday life. Each video shares a simple example of healthy masculinity, such as listening, sharing responsibilities at home, or looking out for others. These stories show how small actions can help build respect and equality in our community.

Video 1: What respect means to a young man and how he shows it with friends, family, and in the community.

Video 2: A local dad talks about sharing responsibilities at home and being a positive role model for his children.

Video 3: An older community member shares how small actions, such as listening and caring for others, help build respect.
