Working for Whitehorse - November 2023

Whitehorse News - November 2023

Meet Brad Nied - the Leisure Bookings Officer for Council’s four venues including Sportlink, our two Aqualink centres and the Nunawading Community Hub. He plays a key role in helping our community access the facilities they need to participate in recreational activities.

Brad has spent eight years in the sport and recreation industry and has been with Council since 2018. As an eastern suburbs resident, he was attracted to being able to make a difference in the community through his work close to home.

In his role, Brad is responsible for managing client bookings for spaces and facilities across the four venues.

“I deliver the ability for clients whether it be permanent or casual to book a space for them to complete their activities which promotes physical activity,” he said.

Brad’s highlight of working with Council so far has been his involvement in Sportlink’s recent expansion, completed earlier this year.

The upgrades included putting a roof over the existing outdoor courts, allowing more sporting groups to play their matches and conduct clinics in all-weather conditions.

“The part of my job that gives me the most satisfaction is knowing that I am giving people a place to stay active and live a healthy life while making friends doing it,” he said.

“Physical activity and a healthy lifestyle is super important to me, so creating an environment for people to achieve that is a big passion of mine."
