Youth ConneXions

Youth ConneXions is Whitehorse City Council's youth information, support and referral centre based at Centro Box Hill Shopping Centre. The centre offers a comfortable and supportive environment for young people aged 12-25, to find information and seek assistance on a range of issues.

Youth ConneXions will be closed from Friday 6 August 2021, in line with Victorian Government restrictions.

We are still able to provide ‘remote’ support to young people and the community during this time.

We will remain closed until restrictions ease and it is safe to re-open.

Remote and online support still available

We still continue to support all young people, families and schools remotely.

During lockdowns, follow our Facebook or Instagram page and join us for Virtual Hangouts every afternoon, Monday to Friday from 4pm.

Youth Worker Support and referrals continue to be available over the phone/text/Facebook Messenger/Instagram (details below).

More Care Packs available

The Youth ConneXions team recently spoke of the impact that lockdown is having on children and young people, including the social isolation that many are feeling.

Kids Help Line have reported that during recent lockdown in Melbourne there has been a 30% surge in calls by children and young people experiencing distress. During Melbourne’s fifth lockdown, which ran for two weeks, the 24 hour phone line received  their highest number of calls, hitting an average of more than 500 a day.

To make a small difference and to acknowledge this tricky time, we have developed care packs to send to young people in our community.  We’d like to say “we know it’s tough, we care, and we’re here for you. Register for your free care pack today!
