Students at Livingstone Primary School rolled up their sleeves for Schools Tree Day, part of the annual National Tree Day celebrations, by planting new trees around their school grounds.

Before planting day, students of the Environment Club played an important role in planning where the trees would be located. They also learned about the many benefits trees provide, including creating habitat for local wildlife, improving the environment, and helping to cool and green the school grounds.

A special highlight of the day was a visit from several endangered Gang-Gang Cockatoos, which were spotted in trees at the school while students were planting. The new trees will help provide future food sources and shelter for these iconic birds, supporting their survival and contributing to local biodiversity.

The planting day gave students a hands-on opportunity to care for their environment and make a positive difference for wildlife, creating a greener, healthier school for years to come.
