Sporting Grounds and Clubs

Council looks after many sporting grounds which are available for individuals and sport clubs to use.

As well as sporting grounds, Council also offers advice to local sporting and recreation groups on committees of management, financial management, marketing and promotion, sponsorship, business planning, planning special events and fundraising.

In addition, Council's Leisure and Recreation Services Department holds club development sessions. For more information about these sessions, call 9262 6333 and ask to speak to Council's Recreation Services Officer.

Sport Clubs

Whether you want to play a team sport such as netball, rugby, soccer, baseball, basketball, bowling, croquet, lacrosse or tennis, or try something new like archery, cycling, karate or tai chi, there are many sport clubs in Whitehorse who provide coaching and competitions.

Find out what sports are available in your area by searching Council's online directory for a full list of sporting and recreation groups in Whitehorse.

For information about running sport and recreation clubs, Council recommends the Australian Sports Commission's online resource library. The library includes useful information on risk management, finances, insurance health and safety policies, fundraising and much more.
