Amendment C220whse - Implementing the Whitehorse Residential Corridors Built Form Study

Amendment C220 was approved on 22 February 2024 and came into effect on 1 March 2024 when notice of the approval was published in the Victoria Government Gazette.

Amendment C220 to the Whitehorse Planning Scheme implements the findings of the Whitehorse Residential Corridors Built Form Study, which was adopted by Council in January 2019, through the Whitehorse Planning Scheme.

In particular, the Amendment introduces Schedule 11 to Clause 43.02 (Design and Development Overlay (DDO11).

DDO11 introduces a discretionary height limit, setbacks and landscaping requirements for new development proposals within land that is zoned either Schedule 1 or 2 to the Residential Growth Zone (RGZ1 or RGZ2) along the Whitehorse Road and Burwood Highway corridors. However, RGZ1 or RGZ2 land within activity centres, existing structure plans and/or urban design frameworks or other Design and Development Overlay schedules, is generally not included in this Amendment.
