At Eley Park, a recent rubbish truck fire caused by crushed batteries highlights why electronic waste doesn’t go in your kerbside bins.

Find battery disposal services at supermarkets, Bunnings and council.
I returned to Orchard Grove Primary to help Year 4 demystify what councillors do, bathroom breaks during long meetings and how much we are paid – $41,992 as set by the Victorian Independent Remuneration Tribunal.

We need your input on the proposed budget 2026/27 to help shape how we deliver services, infrastructure and opportunities and help me represent you. The last budget redirected an extra $1 million towards fixing roads, allowing Eley Rd to be resurfaced.

Providing access to quality open space, is an important way we can protect and improve people’s lives, especially in areas where population density continues to rise. Box Hill City Oval was originally opened in 1937 and will fully re-open in 2027 (the oval will be open in the next few months), not just for sporting clubs, for the entire community to enjoy.

The underutilised carpark on Court St and abandoned Childcare centre on Watts St will soon become a permanent nature-based park,  providing space to play, exercise, dream and meet friends.
Across Elgar ward we have unlocked more than 45,000 square metres of previously restricted open space.

Walker Ward

Over the past month, I’ve enjoyed connecting with our community at local events, including the Antonio Park Community Fun Fair, the Mitcham Night Market at Britannia Mall, and the ANZAC Day service at Halliday Park, where I was honoured to lay a wreath on behalf of Council.

I’ve continued advocating on key local issues such as community safety and planning, and listening to residents on the Walker Park and Charles  Rooks/Dagola Reserve Master Plan consultations. It’s been valuable hearing directly from residents. I remain committed to representing our community-please reach out with feedback, ideas or concerns.
