Join us as we kick off the 2026 planting season and help restore 1.2 ha of habitat along Gardiners Creek. With support from the State Government’s Green Links Program, the Kooyongkoot Alliance and local groups will plant over 12,000 indigenous trees, shrubs and grasses this year.
Enjoy a morning of hands‑on planting and weed removal (no spraying near the creek), hear from guest speakers about creek health and local wildlife, and finish with a free BBQ provided by Deakin University and Box Hill Central Rotary.
This project supports a growing habitat corridor for species such as Rakali, Spotted Pardalotes, Eastern Blue‑tongued Lizards and the endangered Gang‑gang Cockatoo. Over three years we’ll deliver weed removal, 22,000 plants, habitat logs, rocks, nesting boxes and community science events.
Register now — we’d love to have you there.
