Presented by Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Melbourne Japanese Society of Melbourne, Japan Club of Victoria and supported by Whitehorse City Council, the Japan Festival 2026 at the Box Hill Town Hall, features Japanese cultural performances, Wadaiko, Martial Arts, Japanese music and dance, karaoke, contests for ‘Best Kimono’, Cosplay costume and Japanese Postcard Art, Ikebana, Etegami, bonsai and Shinkansen Model Train displays, traditional Japanese games and origami demonstrations, Major Raffle offering trips to Japan, a wide variety of stalls offering Japanese culinary treats, including sushi, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, yakitori, Japanese sweets and tea, as well as Japanese toys, ceramics, books, sake, crafts and kimono on sale! Admission: Ages 12 & over - $5. Ages 6-11 & Seniors Card Holders - $3. FREE admission for children up to 5 years, pensioners and those in costume - kimono/yukata/Cosplay. All-abilities friendly!
