Whitehorse Council only issues these permits to residents within the municipality. People who live outside the municipality must apply to their own local council for a permit.
The decision to issue a permit, as well as the permit type, is based on a doctor’s assessment. The doctor must complete a questionnaire regarding the applicant’s requirements.
Any unsuccessful applications will be reassessed if the applicant has sought a second opinion from another medical practitioner.
People who cannot provide a signed doctor’s assessment are not eligible for a permit.
