Connecting communities: National Volunteer Week 2025

Published: Wednesday 30 Apr 2025

This month we celebrate our amazing network of volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week (19-25 May) with the theme ‘Connecting Communities’.

Volunteering is a fulfilling experience that enriches and strengthens communities. It also has many personal benefits including,

  • making new friends and professional networks
  • expanding your skills and experience
  • improving physical and mental health

Volunteers in Whitehorse strengthen the community in many ways, working on environmental causes, leading tours, supporting local sports clubs, delivering education programs, participating in advisory committees and more.

Box Hill Town Hall will be lit up red during National Volunteer Week as a visible tribute to the tireless efforts of all the volunteers that share their time and knowledge to enhance our community.
