Checklist

  • Speak to a planning officer to clarify any requirements.
  • Get an understanding of local planning policies, in particular any overlay controls for the site.
  • Engage a landscape architect or designer.
  • Gather information to create a vision, prepare a brief and to scope the landscape project.
  • Establish sustainable garden and landscape design principles.
  • Engage an arborist to inspect the site to prepare a report and use it with your designer.
  • Be aware of Council’s ongoing tree protection work and select the right trees for the right locations.
